This week we will be looking at how to market your property once it is up for sale. You have you valuation and your agent, you are happy of the presentation of your property and your solicitor has all the paperwork in place for the sale – you’re now ready for market!
At this point you need to:
- Speak to your agent about exposure for your property
- Are your floor plans and photographs organised for the brochure and website?
- Are you on all major property portals such as Rightmove & OnTheMarket?
- How is the agent's website performing in terms of "hit rate"?
TOP TIP: point out the three main reasons you bought your property originally then ask for that information to be included. Make sure you’re happy with all the information that is being used to sell your property.
The final thing to consider is whether you are going to have a For Sale board. It is important to know that these are for advertising your estate agent and viewings directly from the sale board have proven to be strong leads as your potential buyer is:
- Familiar with the area
- Knows the street
- Has seen your property
We hope that you feel like you can be involved in the marketing stage and that you are happy with everything that your estate agent is doing for you.
Next week: we will be looking at the viewings process.
